St. Paul’s Hospital 2010 Lights of Hope Charity Drive For Better Health Care Services
St. Paul’s Hospital annual drive for charity started on November 25, 2010 when the exterior wall of the downtown Vancouver facilities brightened up the gloomy sky just in time for the holiday season. The goal for this year is to raise at least $1.9 million. Earlier in October, Teck Resources Limited made the largest single corporate and capital donation ever of $2.5 million to the hospital that enabled the completion of the newly redesigned and renovated emergency area which is will be renamed as the Teck Emergency Centre.
In opening the redesigned emergency ward, BC Health Services Minister Kevin Falcon remarked, “St. Paul’s Hospital provides care to a wide range of patients, including some of our most vulnerable and marginalized individuals. This redesign incorporates leading-edge, innovative technologies and best practices to reduce wait times and increase access for those patients, while providing emergency staff with a more efficient and effective work environment.”
Furthermore, a Teck Emergency Centre Innovation Fund will allow on-going research and the development of best practices at the hospital as well.
The charity drive will continue until January 06, 2011. So Happy Holidays and give generously and contribute what you can to help St. Paul’s Hospital build a better health-care future for all of Vancouver and British Columbia to benefit.
